Did you know that if you do not drive your car for few weeks, your Car battery will be fully drained? And most of the cases it is permanent. Means you won't be able to charge it and use. If you are reading this article means you have suffered with the same experience and want to know how you can keep the Car battery unused for long but no damage. The process is very simple just need some tools not so expensive. Even you can use them many other ways for your other projects.
Do not follow this method if you are not familiar with basic electrical/electronic works.
What you need:
1. A 12 Volt battery charger (you can built your own following by my another post). 4 to 7 Amps charger is good for charring a battery (slow charging). You can buy it from any online shop or at hardware shop near to you
2. An automatic timer socket, which can be configured for on/off any time any day.
Step 1: Set the timer socket to switch on every week for one hour.
Step 2: Connect the charger with the socket
Step 3: Take out your Car battery (careful, not to short the positive and negative pole of the battery)
Step 4: Attach the charger clips Negative and positive clips accordingly. Black is for negative and Red is for positive terminal. No mistake please...
The above method will charge your car battery every week and it will charge just a bit only so that the battery doesn't drains fully. Keep this mechanism as long as you are not driving your Car, but I don't encourage to continue for 5/6 months unless you are staying at home to keep an eye. If you buy the smart socket then it can be configured or on/off over Wifi from anywhere.
If you need to buy the Smart Socket and the Charger, you can buy from below link.
